WE ARE BACK

We are back!! We are back to share our special moments with our friends and family.  Many people have asked - "what happened to the blog" - so we are back again to show you a glimpse into our life as a family.  The kids have grown tremendouly physically (yes, Will is much taller than me - even in heels) as well as spiritually.  So feel free to go to some of our older posts (starting in 2007) to see for yourself how the years have brought wonderful accomplishments, fun times and continued development of our kids and family.

Love,
Lori and Shelby Mitchell
Will, Kendall, Christian and Evan

Evan

This year Evan completed Pre-K with the Best Reader award (he's now reading on a third grade level)! Evan followed in the footsteps of his siblings and started soccer this year.  He started with indoor and continued with outdoor soccer.  Of course, he is also known for his love of Angry Birds.  Evan's smile and laugh are contagious as ever.

Christian

Christian has had a very active year as he completes 1st grade.  He has been involved in Cub Scouts, piano and basketball.  Christian won the 1st grade Spanish award this year and continues to amaze us in so many areas of his learning.  Christian love cars, trains and anything with wheels.  He knows far more about my car than I do!!

Kendall

Kendall is staying as busy as ever.  She is the princess of the family. She completed 4th grade this year on the honor roll.  She stays active in Girl Scouts, soccer, basketball, dance and track.  This year she joined an award-winning hip-hop dance competition team.  She is also off to a great second summer running track.  This will be her first year in long jump.

William

Will has had a busy sophomore year.  He finally has his driver's license!! He has had several academic awards and honors, including making it to State competition for Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA).  In sports he remains active in basketball, soccer, cross country...and of course track.  Last summer was his 4th consecutive year to qualify for the National AAU Jr. Olympics.  This year in track his 4x400 team placed 6th in the state and he has already gotten summer track off with a personal best 400m time of :50.

A Visit to the Treehouses at Cheekwood Gardens

The kids had a great time at Cheekwood Botanical Gardens exploring different kinds of treehouses.  They all had their favorite and now have challenged Dad to build one...now we just need to get a tree.
