Of course the beach was the highlight of the trip but the pool at the house and a local festival were some other favorites.

Fall Break in Destin
The Mitchells hit the road to Destin for Fall Break. We stopped by in Alabama to pick up Granny Mitchell so she could join in the fun.

Of course the beach was the highlight of the trip but the pool at the house and a local festival were some other favorites.

Yet ANOTHER Rainy Day
Here in Tennessee it seems as though the rain will never end. Since the boys haven't been able to get out in the yard, we decided to visit the Monkey Treehouse. They had a great time playing hard (and later slept hard).

Franklin Classic 5K Run/Walk
Many of you may know that Shelby has also taken up running, so he and Will decided to do Will's first 5K together. My friend, Joyce, and I also got in the action by doing the 4K Walk. We all had a great time, and for those who may be wondering - Shelby ran an excellent race - but Will still beat him.

First Day of School
Summer's officially over and now we're headed back to school. This is Evan's first year at school so - yes - they're all out of the house (at least part-time).
Kendall was up and ready at the crack of dawn.
Evan, however, wasn't as eager. (Not a morning person!!)
Once Evan remembered he was going to school with Big Brother Christian and could take his Diego lunchbox, Evan was ready to hit the road.
Mom and Dad accompanied the boys on the first day. (Note-no smile from Evan)
Even though he loves his teacher, Evan realizes he's not exactly thrilled about being at school. However, it turns out Evan had a wonderful time. Christian checked in on Evan throughout the day and even showed him all of his favorite playground activities. Christian has matured overnight into a wonderful big brother!!
